How does the ipl treatment work?

During the treatment itself, we direct short and concentrated light pulses to the skin through a prism of glass, which we transfer over the skin surface with a layer of jelly to protect the skin.

The IPL light is converted into heat and the energy that is then generated bursts the melanin (pigment). When treating vessels or redness, the blood vessels coagulate from the heat so that they contract and become invisible.

How many treatments do I need to do?

To get the best results and remedy deep-seated pigmentation and sun damage, we recommend 2-4 treatments at 3-4 week intervals.

What to think about before treatment?

The skin must absolutely not be tanned. Avoid sunbathing (sun, solarium, tan-without-sun creams) 4 weeks before treatment.

Is the treatment painful?

It can sting to something but is not painful. If necessary, an anesthetic cream can be used before the treatment. The sting is sometimes followed by a feeling of warmth.

Are there any side effects?

No! After treatment, a slight redness or swelling may occur. This disappears within a few days. You can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

After treatment

After treatment, you should avoid being exposed to the sun (and anything else that may affect the pigments) for at least 30 days. Use sun protection factor (SPF 50) if you can not avoid sun exposure.
